How You Can Help

Thank you for your interest in supporting the Bernie Scholarship Awards Program! There are many ways for you to join us in our efforts to help deserving students achieve their educational and career goals.

DONATE

Donate

Your donation will help us provide scholarships to graduating high school seniors and other adults who want to earn a college degree or attend a workforce development training program. Our scholarships can be used for tuition and fees, books, child care, computer equipment, and transportation.

You can donate online or complete a donation form to send us a check. For donations of stock and securities, contact Kate Daniel at (301) 495-3036, ext. 160 or kdaniel@thecommunityfoundation.org

The Bernie Scholarship Awards Program is a component fund of The Greater Washington Community Foundation (GWCF), a 501(c)(3) organization. All donations to The Bernie are 100% tax deductible.

VOLUNTEER

Volunteer

We are always looking for volunteers to serve as Board or Advisory Board Members. We also need volunteers who want to make a difference in a Bernie Scholarship recipient’s life by serving as a mentor and giving them the advice and encouragement they need to succeed.

Other volunteer opportunities include Communications/Outreach, Grant Writing/Review, Fundraising, Mentoring, and interviewing scholarship applicants at our annual BSAP Interview Day. If you’re interested in volunteering, please contact us at berniescholarships@gmail.com.
